Prior to accepting a deposit for a puppy, Breeder will have a phone call with prospective buyer to ensure we are only selling puppies to responsible pet owners. We will discuss the following questions:

· Where do you live (City, suburbs, farm….)?

· Do you have a fenced yard? If yes, please describe. 

· What other pets are in the home?

· If you have a dog(s), why do you want another dog?

· Are there children in the home? If so, what ages? 

· Is everyone in the household on board and excited about getting a puppy?

· Have you had a puppy before?

· Have you had a golden retriever before? If not, why do you want a golden retriever?

· What is your preference for male or female puppy?

· What type of personality are you looking for in your puppy?

· How do you plan to house and exercise your puppy?

· Is anyone home during the day to house train the puppy? If not, what arrangements will you be making for your puppy? 

· Will you crate train your puppy? If not, please describe your plans for housebreaking the puppy. 

· Have you crate trained a puppy before?

· Are you committed to taking this dog to obedience classes so that he/she will become an enjoyable companion and integral part of the family? 

· Do you have a veterinarian selected?

· Do you hope to breed your puppy? (If not you will be expected to spay/neuter your dog.) If you hope to breed your puppy, we will get more information on those plans. We do not sell to large breeders and want to ensure that anyone wishing to breed will be committed to responsible breeding practices.
